What is this so-called responsiveness?

An unresponsive website is easy to recognize, it’s simply not readable and doesn’t scale properly for the given screen.

This is nothing more than adjusting a website to different types of devices, this term emerged when mobile devices appeared which gave us the opportunity to browse websites. In its first stage, almost 100% of websites were unresponsive, or as we opened websites on the first “smartphones”, we had to scroll them not only up and down but also sideways, sometimes the website would scale so that it was visible in its entirety, but the letters would be tiny and unreadable on a small screen. Sometimes the mechanism that allowed us to catch such a website with two fingers and stretch it would help. In short, browsing unresponsive websites was a real nightmare.

Luckily we have 2022 year, and this term has lost its significance because today everyone who creates websites knows perfectly well how important (no matter how bad he is, but that’s material for another article …) mobile traffic is and that no one can afford to neglect the issue of website readability.

If your website is unresponsive (by some chance) you expose yourself to:

– Google ban – google doesn’t like non-responsive websites and pushes them to the margin of search results, let’s put it bluntly, what’s good for a human who uses Google is also good for Google, if something is good for Google, Google rewards its website owner with free traffic and that’s how it works

– loss of potential benefits, a client who enters an unresponsive website will believe me on my word won’t spend a fraction of a second analyzing why the website doesn’t scale properly, he’ll just close your website and go to your competition …

That’s why it’s still worth asking yourself “will my website be responsive” when choosing a developer because rare as it may be but such cases still occur, especially where only price matters whether a website can have certain flaws in this matter, that’s why you shouldn’t focus on the developer’s price alone when making your choice, I mean, think about what you’ll get by saving 500 zł on building a website if later advertising and promoting it will be nothing but burning off those savings and you’ll be wondering “why my phone doesn’t ring” … hello – puk puk, is someone there?

Just look at the issue from your potential client’s perspective, apparent savings are paid back in the long run, don’t skimp on a website developer because building a website is just the beginning of your investments and with time it will be only a fraction of all costs related to an internet website so it’s worth taking care that it’s built in such a way that later advertising and promoting it in the Internet gives you the highest possible conversion, i.e. the largest possible percentage of people visiting it who will take the trouble to reach for their phone or write a question using a form.

This is in your hands whether you’ll be stingy now with 500 zł more on building a website or not.
