How Much Does an Internet Website Cost in Germany?
Don’t you want to know this, believe me (:, no, seriously, German IT companies have such rates that you can fall out of your chair when seeing the prices. Sometimes I get quotes from my clients who are also looking for a contractor and they offer me such rates that are sometimes on the level of several thousand zlotys for a relatively simple website construction.
Of course, these prices don’t come out of thin air, German consumers are much wealthier than Polish ones, so these prices are quite normal for them, but not for a Pole living in Germany who has set up a company there and is trying to compete with existing German entities. It’s hard for such a person to swallow the price of 2.3 thousand euros for building a website because they will have to spend thousands more on its advertising.
However, you are in an advantageous position compared to a typical German who doesn’t have many choices. Germans tend to be reluctant to look at contractors from other countries than Germany, that’s such local patriotism, which we Poles also follow, but our motives are different, namely short-sighted attempts to save money by hiring cheaper services abroad. But I’m not here to glorify the German nation, only to help people like you who want to start a business in the German market.
You can decide to significantly reduce your costs and at the same time support the Polish economy by building an internet website in Poland for similar prices but in zlotys, and it will be no worse internet website price. Despite being lower, it’s not the only advantage; deciding to build a website with a Polish company will also give you higher service quality and, as a result, a better final effect. Depending on your needs, you can create a simple website for 1500 zlotys (as of the time this article was written), everything depends on how much compromise you’re willing to make. The less you have, the higher the final price of the service will be.
Believe me, it’s not worth insisting on ridiculous things that don’t have any impact on the effectiveness of attracting customers with such a website later when it’s built and advertised. Your potential clients have this in mind, whether an icon X has a certain color and shape or if a subpage about us is impressive with its background and animations. No, in business, people care about one thing – price, price, price, and for Germans too, although I note that when making their choices they also follow local patriotism, so if you’re a plumber, have a car repair shop or a construction and renovation company, it doesn’t matter because local patriotism doesn’t work well there. However, in the case of high-specialized services, such as IT and others, this has a huge impact.
Wherever there is any risk of legal consequences related to non-compliance with the agreement by the contractor – Germans act cautiously, they choose offers from companies that usually have a strong market position, reputation, so it’s hard for Polish IT companies to break through in Germany.
Unfortunately, once I had a friend living in Germany for 30 years who told me that the easiest way to get established on the German market is to buy a German business with some history and client base, and there is something to this.
However, when it comes to high-specialized industries, the situation is different. As for small businesses strictly related to services for private individuals, it’s definitely more promising for Poles. In such cases, price wins.
Therefore, your attention should rather be focused on finding a successful promotion idea and reaching your target client than looking for the cheapest web design service in Poland. No, the website must also represent some quality; it will be your virtual office card, so it’s not worth saving money on it because later you may lose thousands of zlotys per month and wonder what went wrong.
The website must be professionally made, readable on any device, fast, a website that takes several dozen seconds to load is nothing more than an investment in the sea; no one will wait several dozen seconds for your website to open, they’ll just go to your competitors.
