FREE ONLINE SHOP
A free online shop is a very common search query on Google, generally the first positions in the list of ads for searches such as “online shop” are occupied by companies offering so-called free or subscription-based online shops or a free online shop.
Why does this happen? Because there are many naive people and business takes advantage of it, therefore companies offering such makeshift solutions have resources for advertising.
Trap #1 – promotion of another domain/firm through a so-called free online shop

These companies offer to create an online shop in their own domain …
From there the price is 30-50 zł/mc
FREE ONLINE SHOP
– is not actually free
Unfortunately, there’s no such thing as a free lunch, online sales cost what they are, and that’s why a shop in someone else’s domain is like this, let’s say I have a company that offers to build such “cheap” online shops, my main domain is e.g. esklepy.com.
A client who wants to buy from me an online shop will get an address with the following structure: nazwamojegosklepu.esklepy.com – this is a very cunning move allowing the platform/company selling this type of solution to promote themselves for free at the expense of the shop.
You’re investing in advertising, often not small amounts, and at the same time the company that sold you the online shop promotes itself using your money.
This happens because you have a shop in their domain so your client’s address will show the “esklepy.com” domain. If they are potentially interested in setting up an online shop, they will go to their website and maybe buy something, so this free online shop is actually not free and good for the end customer …
FREE ONLINE SHOP IS A BAD SOLUTION
Why is it a bad solution for you?
Because you’re investing cyclically in advertising, promoting that name in the network, in reality, therefore you run the risk of what’s called…
Trap #2 – price extortion risk.

Let’s assume that over two years you spend 10,000 zł on advertising your shop in the esklepy.com domain – your site is well-positioned in Google, generates traffic, has thousands of links from various places in the Internet leading to nazwamojegosklepu.esklepy.com.
Now let’s assume that the company selling you this online shop for a subscription fee of 50 zł/mc raises their fees by 100-200% overnight. You then have two options: either suck it up and pay, or give up on the service and automatically LOSE all the money and time invested in advertising because…
You lose the right to use that address “nazwamojegosklepu.esklepy.com” when you stop paying for the subscription. What happens when you stop paying – that address ceases to exist and your potential customers who will click on ads in the Internet leading to your shop will be redirected to a “void”.
In such a situation, you have to accept losing all the money invested in advertising and start over with a dedicated solution that no one will take from you.
FREE ONLINE SHOP IS A SENTENCE FOR PRESTIGE

Trap #3 – shop prestige
I’ve never bought anything from a shop built on what’s called a subdomain.
Why?
The answer is very simple: if someone saves so much on the appearance of their shop, what can we expect from the products they offer, customer service, complaints, etc. ?
Answer yourself calmly to this question: would you as a potential customer buy something from such a shop? Take out your credit card, enter its number, give them your personal data, etc.
I don’t think so …
ONLINE SHOPS IN THE “FREE” FORMULA ARE FOR AMATEURS
Dedicated solutions are for amateurs, besides look at another example: let’s assume that you will pay this subscription fee for 5 years at 50 zł/mc, after 5 years you’ll have spent 3000 zł on it. For this amount you can buy the simplest dedicated solution to which you have ownership.
The hosting won’t be answering to you – you’ll take the shop and install it elsewhere, you’ll want to change the domain of your online shop at some point – no problem, buy a new domain, move the shop under it and VOILA!
You don’t need to pay anyone a subscription fee, you have an online shop on your own property.
