Facebook Advertising Manager
Personally, I don’t know of any tool that is as chaotically non-intuitive in its design as the Facebook Ads Manager. In terms of this aspect, it outshines everything else I’ve seen over nearly 20 years of experience, including online advertising.

Mark Zuckerberg – are you still working on the ergonomics of your service or have you handed it over to chance?
Unfortunately, this is not the end of bad news. The Facebook Ads Manager is not the only problem with this advertising medium. I think the biggest problem is the countless number of people who, out of lack of better ideas in life or lack of occupation, are able to make a mess of your life without any interest or for their own interests. There are also those who will try to discredit your work in the eyes of clients you’ve already acquired, just so they can earn money from them.
Unfortunately, with a heavy heart I have to say that FB is an ideal ecosystem for such people who have accomplished nothing in life, were too lazy to do anything about it, and therefore make a mess on other people’s fan pages. This is done solely to boost their self-esteem, built on something as flimsy as… whatever comes out of their mouths or keyboards.
If you’re seriously thinking about advertising on Facebook, you should simply factor this into your business plan because you’ll have either:
– Blocking such cretins and deleting their comments (they feel an insatiable need to expose their thoughts publicly)
– Wasting time arguing with them by responding to the nonsense they spew out.
I’ll say it straight out: Facebook advertising is a less or more effective way of attracting clients, but it’s hard to compete with something like Google Ads due to its very nature. You won’t be able to target people as precisely in Google Ads as you can on Facebook, and in Google Ads you’ll reach people who are actively looking for your services or products, whereas on Facebook users are generally not in the so-called “buying mode” but rather killing boredom at work (i.e., essentially stealing from their employers) and are unmotivated to spontaneous reactions beyond making a mess of others’ lives. This won’t cost them anything other than time, which most of them have plenty of.
You’ll probably ask how much Facebook advertising costs?
Is this whole ordeal with idiots worth it in terms of rational justification?
Facebook Advertising Manager
Assuming you’re not comparing its effectiveness to other forms of advertising, it can be assumed that it’s a very cheap form of advertising, albeit not necessarily at first. Unfortunately, for some reason Facebook feels so strong on the market (thank you politicians/institutions for making us have only two choices: Google or Facebook) that it doesn’t need to care about its clients and introduces new ways to maximize its profits.
Not even a month ago I deleted one of my campaigns billed on a CPM model, i.e., I paid Facebook only when someone clicked on my ad box and visited my site. This campaign worked well for a long time but I finally came to the realization that it’s easier to delete it and create a new one than to deal with the chaotic Ads Manager. And oh boy, was I surprised when in the new campaign (same account, same credit card, same client data) Facebook forced me to start billing based on CPM, i.e., every time someone sees my ad.
I think that if you’re running online shops or offering services, it’s significantly safer to build your “fan” base by creating a mailing list than organizing a community around your fan page. The advantage of such a solution is that the mailing list is yours and you can use it as long as you want. You can acquire contacts for your mailing list through various contests with prizes, coupons, etc. – there are countless ways to do this.
However, be aware that one “g…” on your fan page can set fire to a considerable advertising budget over time. Be vigilant about keeping the comment system clean and respond promptly to any idiot who decides to make a mess of it. The best way is to block them and then delete their posts.
