Remote Work During a Pandemic
Everyone is now experiencing firsthand how much of an impact this virus can have on our lives, it’s hard to predict the far-reaching consequences it will bring to the economy, companies that rely on people’s presence such as shops, hotels, cafes, bars, holiday apartments and many other activities that are facing bankruptcy today.

Working a regular job – we don’t know if the employer will make it through this time, until now we don’t know how long it will take to cope with this epidemic and pay salaries, loans, leases, other commitments as well… without mentioning ZUS.

Are you a small business owner or an employee on a regular contract?
How dependent are you on factors affecting your financial liquidity?

In situations like this, only speculators will gain – very wealthy people who will soon buy stocks or real estate at ridiculous prices (they do it cyclically with each crisis and earn a fortune), as well as people running online shops.

Think about whether you want to secure yourself in the event of a similar catastrophe by becoming independent from the economic situation. People will always have to buy essential products – clothing, food, home appliances, household chemicals etc. regardless of the market situation and crises. If you run a stationary shop in a situation like today you may face bankruptcy, but if you have an online shop selling such goods, you can still function because people must buy these products. The world cannot afford to close factories, warehouses as people need to eat and wear clothes, so you can be sure about the functioning of these entities as they will always be under strict protection from every government as without this a country ceases to exist and chaos ensues.

An online business, your own online shop is an excellent way to diversify risk. Everything is moving to the internet, the e-commerce industry is growing at an unprecedented rate and accelerating all the time, now based on our experience with coronavirus, the world will draw conclusions that the pace of transferring businesses to the internet must increase as people need to feel safe and cannot be cut off from deliveries of basic products.

Setting up an online shop is a much cheaper solution than setting up a traditional store where you have to rent retail and warehouse space which costs several/thousands of zlotys per month or more, you have to employ staff, equip the store and buy goods – it’s hundreds of thousands of złotys investment. For a fraction of these costs you can set up an online shop, you don’t need to buy goods for storage because you can sell them in a dropshipping model where you pay for a product only when it is sold, you pay the wholesaler, the wholesaler sends the product to the customer, you run a store without leaving home – isn’t this ideal business management?

Building an online shop costs several thousand zł – if you want to have your own shop, there are no costs compared to organizing offline sales and all the risks that follow from it, not mentioning even the current epidemic we are dealing with.
