Responsive websites – what it is and why you need one.

Here is the translation of the Polish text into English:

**RESPONSIVE SITES**

RWD, RESPONSIVENESS, MOBILE SITE – these are the three most commonly used terms to describe websites that are adapted for mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets.

Why do I need a mobile site ???

For people outside the advertising industry, this is a completely foreign concept, unknown until they see a non-responsive site on their smartphone, especially in portrait mode (:

Everything becomes clear immediately, but is it really ??

Some will not pay attention to this and will scroll down and sideways trying to read information on the website without even thinking about the implications for the website owner and his potential customers or readers.

If you run a business, plan to launch a website or online store, or already have one, what follows will save you time and money on advertising costs in the Internet (:

This article is not about buying some product that will do miracles, but about how to increase conversions generated by your website regardless of who built it for you, and you should know that a significant majority of companies on the market still cannot build responsive websites (:, this is a fascinating fact.

The rapidly increasing number of smartphones, cheap internet cards have resulted in significant changes where, of course, in the most important place – advertisements for your business if you think about selling something online ie GOOGLE

Google has recently started to favor mobile-friendly websites – why so ?

Google very much cares about the quality of the results it displays in its search engine, I am not talking only about their accuracy but also about the user comfort that then enters and browses such websites that Google serves them, does this because it knows how easy it is to lose an online client, enough to one or two incorrect results or seemingly minor lack of responsiveness of websites displayed in the ranking, if such a client finds what they are looking for in another search engine ie BING, Google loses.

This would never happen as Google leads all internet innovations and therefore has its own interests which it cannot allow any user of its search engine to feel discomfort served through it (because it relies on billions of ad revenue from AdWords and every client is gold-dusted), on the other hand we have you as a business owner trying to sell something online or reader.

A mobile site, responsive site is not just about browsing comfort, but also about loading speed which has significant importance in the case of smartphones that depending on the strength of the signal serve different speeds for downloading and sending data, a non-responsive site is not optimized for mobile networks but for fixed connections characterized by high bandwidth and constant transmission conditions so in such cases the designer building websites does not need to worry whether the page loaded into the user’s browser weighs 2MB or 10MB because theoretically mobile traffic does not interest him, maybe it doesn’t because many companies designing websites still underestimate this issue or simply cannot build solutions like that, but you as a website owner should care about this.

Online sales is characterized by the fact that seconds count when the client finds what they are looking for or leaves our store.

Let’s assume you already have a website and you spend 1,000 PLN per month on its positioning in Google, after several months your site generates around 100 visitors per day, half of them are mobile (and these proportions are changing over time in favor of mobile devices), 50% of the costs you incur go down the drain, what a waste if you pay only for positioning which is cheaper than AdWords, there are companies that invest tens of thousands PLN per month in promoting their websites through Google AdWords .

What is the difference in building a responsive and non-responsive website ?

No one would be surprised – NONE AT ALL

Of course, for those who know how to build such websites this issue does not exist at all, but if you fall into such companies and do not know what responsiveness means, you will lose several thousand PLN because when you become aware of what a mobile-friendly website is, you will have to spend more money to have someone more knowledgeable with technology redo it for you, this time according to the spirit of the times (:

A responsive site has significant importance in determining your place in Google rankings, where around 300 factors influence the position occupied by your website in search engine results pages and this list is constantly growing, responsiveness is currently one of the most important of these factors. As I mentioned earlier, Google paranoiacly fears losing user trust which is completely understandable so it maximally cares about their comfort and browsing ease, furthermore if you want to have your place in its index you simply need to adapt otherwise you will be pushed to the margins, this is a fact.

To sum up:

Responsiveness of an online website affects:

* position in Google rankings for your website, thus the traffic that reaches your site
* significant improvement in browsing comfort on smartphones which increases the chances of selling your services and products to mobile device users whose number grows dynamically year by year so they cannot be underestimated

When choosing a service ie building websites – don’t get ripped off with extra costs for what is called responsiveness (for a mobile site) because today a mobile-friendly website is not an additional entity but built as a multi-platform one from the start, this saves time and money; pay attention to how quickly your website loads, thus proper optimization especially under mobile devices’ aspect, not just graphics but the whole website’s construction including numerous elements such as:
